Ozempic (semaglutide) and Mounjaro (tirzepatide) are approved for diabetes but also prescribed for weight loss off-label quite often
If a drug is being used off-label for weight loss, getting approval can be more challenging and may require extensive documentation to justify the choice
At minimum: IGF-1 every 4 weeks, fasting glucose and insulin every 2 weeks initially (monthly once stable), HbA1c every 6 weeks, liver enzymes monthly, and comprehensive metabolic panel quarterly
